Trying to make a realistic face

Postby ecke101 » Fri Aug 02, 2019 2:52 am

I've been playing around a lot with Blender 2.80 the last months so now I feel confident to try to make a realistic face from makehuman.

This is what I have done so far to get to this stage:
* Raised the eyebrows a bit and edited eyebrow001.png to soften the hairs
* Edited eyelashes02.png to soften the hairs
* Custom target to make the eyelids more realistic
* Made a subsurface scattering map
* Handpainted bump map for skin pores and lips
* Edited the eye shader so that the cornea has some gloss mixed in with the transparency.

Any suggestions?

Beautiful work on the bump map which needed looking at in full size to see all the detail as for for suggestions work to your own standards which is the advise that any artist would tell you so keep at it until you are happy or till you hit a wall ;) then ask how to break or climb over the wall :)

Enjoy the Choice :)

I experimented with some hair before going to bed last night and I'm very happy with the results. There's definitely more to learn about hair-particles and how to style it though.

These look great. A couple of shots of befores, and any intermediates, if you have any saved .blend files still, would be nice.

Thank you. I don't have any old saves but I imported the same model from MH (without my eye-target) and set the same lighting as in my second image and this is what she looked like then:

I could as well post the bump map if anyone is interested.. It's not nearly finished but maybe can help someone anyway.

It's really good. The hair / hairline is so authentic and impressive. I know your post is older; but is there any specific hair tutorial that you'd recommend or did you just figure this out on your own? :)
