That is really cool. It kinda reminds me of heavy metal album covers.

Great bat when viewed at full res. Not as clear at forum res. Overall fantastic piece of art.

Thanks for the kind comments :) - i think it came out alright, i would have liked to add a lot more detail and fine tune things, but as it is my computer had already slowed down dramatically, where it was becoming difficult to work - this mainly because of the hires textures and the 4 particle systems.

Yes, you definitely have to click on the pic and see it at full resolution -- this is true of any renders that are shared in the forum.

The hair looks really good -- I'm sure that took quite a lot of memory and processor -- and hair is one of the hardest things to do convincingly.

Yes, the hair was one of the main focus points for me in this render - i had found a new node setup for hair that i loved and thought i would try, and it shows slightly in this render, but its true potential would have to be a close up render - the node setup allows one to control darkness at the roots even the length of the darkness, then there is a Voronoi texture mixed in with the colour of the hair giving different shades of the same colour to strands... over all the best looking hair (my opinion) that i have seen.

for anyone interested this is definitely worth checking out:
