No no, half an hour dynotopology sculpt, left raw and triangled. Pointiness to color+the gimp overlay of what i call "moldsick monitor" (too few samples for the cycles denoiser). Actually i have one or two pretty usable third party skulls on my object-shelf, but a) i don't like to say thank you all day long, and b) i was pretty sure i could sculpt a skull by heart that would be sufficient "for that money and those people" . And in deed your question tells me your brain did the autocomplete where i better had used a refference picture (look at the unreal fatty "bridge" where the jaw usually joins the skull. There isn't even a hole). So i was right to allow me to rather have a bit of fun while doing it than having the best skull of the world. In addition, this scene may very well be in a far future, when humanity is long left to extinction, and some formerly artificial intelligences have a good time in a museum of robotic history, enjoying an artificial recreation. Those skulls then would be the remains of the people we will become in some hundret years, and since they where bodyfarmed, the strange form may be as well a matter of breeding.

The robot is not my invention, but a free interpretation of "Franka":

Yes, it's the german name for Ferrero Kinder Surprise. A molecule thin layer of 3% cacao on two molecules dried butter, encapsulating a mysterious toy that you never can predict.
So this is a wordplay. X-ray of a child... children surprise... well...

But the image also implies the story Biobaby/Non-Biobaby, a quite new topic. I would be surprised if there weren't already some petri-dish-babies out there. Optimized little winners, expensive but successful. Fresh from the wishlist. No illness, no disability, with guaranteed health for 5, 10 or 20 years, or the premium package with lifetime warranty - improper use excluded. Next stop: immortality.

Ah, I was unaware of the particular candy/toy, though I've seen similar.

On children optimized, genetic editing would be a new treatment on something that likely has been happening for quite a while.

The capsule containing the toy is more expensive and useful than the toy itself. A throw-away toy and, as grinsegold mentioned, some kind of pseudo-chocolate. But millions are sold, because the kids are terrorizing their parents to get one directly before the cash-desk when you try leave the super-market

Additional wishes for optimizing these petri-dish-babies: they should not shit into diapers ... the smell is terrible. And instead of boohooing they should at least articulate their problems

Nice work, grinsegold!
