Important changes to the asset downloader plugin

With the help of forum user CKY, there have been significant usability improvements to the asset downloader plugin. It will now:

  • Download all asset types (previously a bunch were not supported)
  • Properly sort clothes-type assets into the correct folders (teeth, eyebrows...)
  • Once an asset has been downloaded it is removed from the lists in the downloader, making it easier to see what remains to be downloaded (if you need to re-download, you will have to manually delete the asset)
  • Fix some errors with file names inside asset file descriptors (for example fix a faulty diffuseTexture reference)

Further, if anyone wants to help with improvements, there have been additions to the JSON file which is produced server side. It now has:

  • A field for when the item was uploaded ("created")
  • A field for when the item was last changed ("changed")
  • A hash with info about belonging for when a material belongs to a specific item
  • Complete file lists for all items (previously some items were lacking information about files)

I would encourage anyone using the asset downloader plugin to update to the latest version from github (at https://github.com/makehumancommunity/community-plugins)

This is for make a connexion between the repo and Blender directly ?

No, its for making a connection between mh and the repo. Blender is not involved.

The blender plugin is for syncronizing the shape of a mesh in blender with the shape of a mesh in MH.

I try the plugin, synchronise, all fine but when I close MH and reopen it the time to loading plugin 8_xxxxx increase a lot the starting session :|

I see, moreover, could you put in the json file a correspondence with the personal folders organization, because that take account :?

As a work-around:
One thing you can do if you are not continuously working with the community assets repository, is to go to settings | plugins and uncheck 8_community_assets plugin. The restart will be much faster. You can always check it again if you wish to start with this functionality available.

Could you explain what you mean by 'the json file a correspondence with the personal folders organization"?
