In order to create a wig that can be used in Makehuman, you need a mesh. Particle hair wigs won't import into MH.
My approach is to start by creating a 'bathing cap' from the MH mesh. Simply select the faces on the top of the head that you want, duplicate and separate.
Then create a 'scalp' vertex group before you go any farther. This makes UV unwrapping much easier.
After that, select all the 'bathing cap' mesh and solidify. Assign a new vertex group to this part of the mesh and call it 'wig'.
From here, you can now extrude or sculpt any kind of hair style that you want, and it will import into MH.
