Feature suggestion for MakeClothes

Postby SaltyCowdawg » Tue Apr 15, 2014 4:20 pm

Is it at all possible to allow clothing to have multiple materials? Example I give here is I have a military helmet that I've created that needs both a diffuse color and a glass area where the visor is.

In MakeClothes today that isn't possible.

It is not possible in MakeClothes because it is not possible in MakeHuman. You can either split the helmet into two separate objects that can be loaded into MH separately, or use a texture where alpha=0 in the glass area. The high-poly eyes use the second technique - the cornea has uv coordinates in a region where the texture is transparent.

MakeHuman does not allow multiple materials per object.
Perhaps in the future we could allow it, but not for now...
