Compiling on Ubuntu

Postby hhemken » Mon Feb 25, 2008 12:57 am

Hi,

Trying to run /mhgui-0.2/.configure, get this error:

Code: Select all
checking for FreeGLUT library... no
checking for GLUT library... no

****************************************************
* Abort!                                           *
* You need support for FREEGLUT or GLUT in mhgui!  *
* Hint: Perhaps you need some X11 development libs *
*       like Xmu. Install them if needed.          *
****************************************************

According to Synaptic, freeglut, glut, and the xmu libraries (normal and dev) are already installed. I am on an up-to-date Ubuntu 7.10 box. I found this thread, but it did not provide a specific solution:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=333615

If anyone knows how to fix this, please post. Maybe I'm missing something dumb and obvious, but I'm not seeing it! BTW, the Ubuntu binaries on sourceforge (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... _id=211091) are over a year old. I would much appreciate a current set. If I could build them, I would post them myself :)

Thanks!

MakeHuman is tested on Ubuntu 7.10. I assume you missed to install some dev packages. Look into the config.log after it fails. Paste it here if you like me to look over it. Or paste it here and provide a link:
