From what I heard, the only thing still required is a way of transferring the UV coordinates back to the mesh.

I was rather hoping that someone on the development team would take up my suggestion to download the 15-day trial version, go to the Forum, and download the MD4 projects posted by Zinc Chameleon (aka brkurt). ;)

I've done most of the prep work already; the next person could see how it would fit into the Makehuman project goals.

Me, I'm going to purchase the educational version of 3D Coat, and work on retopologies of the MD4 garment meshes I've created. :)

I'm currently still tied up too much at completing the new posing code, but I'll definitely try to take a look at this at a later time.

Question: this program exports also normal maps of the clothes in particular positions?

You will need to go the MD forum, and search carefully to be sure, but I believe the answer is no. MD4 exports a quad mesh, and a procedural texture, but not normal, bump or UV maps. I would like to qualify that statement, as MD4 is under heavy development, and its users are demanding normal maps.

The biggest problem with MD4 (from my perspective) is that it does not seamlessly integrate with DAZ studio. That is the number one request on the MD forum(s).

If it even doesnt export UV maps, how is it possible to export normal maps, I wonder.

MD does export UV maps. They exactly match your pattern layout. Very convenient.

Are you using MD 4? I know that there has been heavy development, even since version 4 went out.

As for me, I've discontinued, as I am looking into the Academic license for 3D Coat, as I am helping to create a Digital Culture program for my college.

I am using MD4, but it was able to as far back as MD 2.
