Ubuntu future

Yikes! It seems that Ubuntu is going from unity desktop to gnome desktop and some other stuff.

Don't know if this has any direct implications for MH, but it seems just plain weird, but then I'm mostly a Windows user. Here's a little history: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpb3iRNGnaA

In short words: No.
MakeHuman should be independent from the desktop as long as the desktop is supported by Qt. There are many different Desktops, used by Ubuntu and any other Distro. Qt is mostly linked with the KDE-Desktop anyway.

The question is about the impact in regard of the Linux Desktop in general, if the Ubuntu Desktop Version should completely disappear. With Linux Mint it is one of the most used Distribution, though the number of Ubuntu haters probably equals the number of its fans.

Look's like Shuttleworth is trying to save money as the core dev group for Unity are his employees and the take up on the other platforms just did not happen and the Gnome 3 desktop which was it's core is now the default so all the 'buntu based distros will not even burp I prefer Mint's Cinnamon desktop myself which also uses Gnome 3 as it's core though I also have KDE ,Gnome and MATE installed  just in case.

Enjoy the Choice :)
