debian bulleseye install possible

Postby brcisna » Sun Feb 23, 2020 2:13 am

Hello All,

Was able to get makehuman-community Alpha-2.x installed on Debian Buster via apt no problem.
Updated to Debian Bullseye( 11) and appears there is no installation for this distro?
Maybe I am missing something.
Anyone tried MH on Bullseye or SID Debian?

Thank You

You could run the source version as it's all Python 3 just make sure that the dependencies are met you can run it in userland instead of installing into the system files did that for several years myself though at the time we used Python 2.7 as numpy had not made into Python 3 yet.

Enjoy the Choice :)

I've been using Ubuntu 18.04 since about two months after it came out. Before that I used Ubuntu 16.04. Both have caused me the least amount of grief although the Blender that is bundled with those distros gave me no end of grief.

I am now using Blender 2.83 alpha and Blender 2.81 having divorced myself from Blender 2.79. MakeHuman 1.2.0a4 is also running on my desktop. Someday I just will have to splurge on two large format displays because I'm going cross eyed using a 21" single display. :-P

We don't have any installation package specific for any debian version. Your two options are to either use an ubuntu ppa package or to run from source (see http://www.makehumancommunity.org/wiki/ ... _source%3F)

Running from source is probably significantly easier in this case.
