Posing: what's the secret?

Postby SaltyCowdawg » Sun Jan 05, 2020 1:35 am

Sounds simple, but this has eluded me for quite some time. I remember this being easier with the Alpha 7 posing but can't seem to make it happen under the current system.

What I've been trying to do is set up a pose with the character using "knife hand" on the person they are talking to. For those that might not know there is a tradition in at least the US military that you never point at anyone with an index finger type of pointing. Instead you straighten your hand and in a sort of slight chopping movement point towards the person you are talking to (talking at?) to make emphasis which can be either positive or negative.

Any tricky way of doing this?

oh..crap... the Gunny is doing that "knife hand thing" I've managed to piss him off... not good

This is actually better results that I've had in the past. Those fingers should be close together but every time I try I end up distorting the mesh on the fingers.
