Any way to get back the humanIK rig from version 1.0.2?

Postby mercurius » Fri Mar 23, 2018 8:10 pm

I didn't see this in the rig repository. Is there any way to get back the humanIK rig that used to be in Makehuman?

thanks.

There has never been an inverse kinetic rig but if you use mhx2 you can use the one it provides you can not even define one for makehuman as the app it's self don't support it only blender does why you use mhx2.

Enjoy the Choice :)

You're right. It wasn't a rig, it was a skeleton.
It was easy to take that skeleton and add a Maya HumanIK rig atop it.

Any way to get that humanIK skeleton definition back?

The only way to get IK has always been MHX. See https://bitbucket.org/Diffeomorphic/mhx ... n-exchange

Again, I'm not talking about an IK rig - sorry about the wording of my original post.
I'm talking about the humanIK skeleton definition that was an option in Makehuman version 1.0.2 in the pose/animate tab, and that was removed in later versions.

ON EDIT - Yes, I found it. Under User Contributed Assets > Rigs/Skeletons. It's called Motion Builder Rig.

As I mentioned there is no way to define an a human IK rig for makehuman as the code dose not support any rig but FK rigs IK rigging needs to be added after import into your 3d modelling app blender/Maya etc each has a different way of doing that so doing it within makehuman is actually useless. Mhx2 dose the work for you using blender but not Maya and if you are using the free version check the terms and usage doc and you will find that you can not even use any of the models you create as can not copyright your work for any commercial purpose which also applies to DAZ 3D who's licence is even more restrictive read the fine print on any so called free software. BTW that motion builder skeleton does not support IK at all.

Enjoy the Choice :)

Yes, it's called "Motion Builder Rig" in the repository but it's just a skeleton definition.
It's exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks to the community for contributing it.
