After many years of development, MakeHuman 1.0.0 is released.

You can find the downloads at http://www.makehuman.org/content/downlo ... n_100.html. In the next few days we will publish more details about the new features, but here are the highlights:

Great news, but when can we expect Windows version with the installer? Currently there's only .zip archive (fully usable but less convenient and "professional")

Big Congratulations All Around! :D

I'm glad I've invested time and effort into this program (as a contributing artist).

Manuel, is anyone considering creating a documentary for techies and artists alike about the history of the project?

Seriously, some one could do a master's degree on the subject. 8-)

There was someone working on such a thing, but I'm not sure it's continuing. Perhaps Manuel will have to do it himself if we ever want this to happen.
But currently we're busy with going forward instead of looking in the past, which I think is the better use of our precious time.

Anyway, it would be cool, yes. ;)

It was not finished, it never worked actually. So we did not include it in the release.

We also changed development principles so that In the future you will no longer see experimental unfinished features in MH until they work. Which should further avoid such confusion.

I see. Well, I do miss it as it worked for me...just would not save changes. I could however deform or tweak my mesh body and export to Blender and save from there. I have created at least 8 OpenSim avatars in this way and it worked great. I hope this will become a feature soon as well as a T-Pose option. I do think the changes in development principles you mentioned is a great idea and praise the MH team for all the hard work it took to get to this release.

First of all: Congratulations to everybody.

However, the RPM provided does not install on OpenSuse 13.1. The installer (YAST) claims about a missing dependency PyOpenGL, which AFAICS is there but the OpenSuse team for some reason named it "python-opengl".

~> rpm -q -filesbypkg python-opengl
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/AGL
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/AGL/__init__.py
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/AGL/__init__.pyc
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/GL
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/GL/AMD
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/GL/AMD/__init__.py
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/GL/AMD/__init__.pyc
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/GL/AMD/blend_minmax_factor.py
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/GL/AMD/blend_minmax_factor.pyc
...
ython-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/GL/APPLE
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/GL/APPLE/__init__.py
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/GL/APPLE/__init__.pyc
...
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/GL/ATI
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/GL/ATI/__init__.py
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/GL/ATI/__init__.pyc
...
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/GL/MESA
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/GL/MESA/__init__.py
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/GL/MESA/__init__.pyc
...
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/GL/NV
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/GL/NV/__init__.py
python-opengl /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/OpenGL/GL/NV/__init__.pyc
...

I am not familiar with that rpm magic, so I started to report here.

I downloaded the source code as described in

Starting the program by
~> python makehuman.py
was successful, no hair and no clothes though. Blender export was not tested.
What i am missing at most is some offline documentation. I understand that MH has undergone deep changes since I had a look at it (0.6). So I am sure the documentation situation will improve.
Best regards
Thomas

The RPM is intended for Fedora only, I believe.
However someone is working at setting up a SUSE build on OBS. I'll keep you posted.
