Licensing question

Postby Gunpar28 » Sat Jul 22, 2017 9:31 am

Hello, I have this licensing question:

If I export a model from MakeHuman and then do edits to it in Blender later, can I assign a license of my own choosing to the edited model (copyright it) or will it remain CC0 no matter what?

Yes, you can copyright and relicense that particular model, even with a commercial/proprietary license. But you cannot stop anyone from using MakeHuman to produce a similar or equivalent model.

Understood.

Does it also apply to the exported textures which I have edited, i.e. can I relicense edited textures as well?

Also do I need to later specify that the model and texture were made with MakeHuman?

Thank you for your response.

Yes.

No. (although doing so would obviously be a friendly and polite thing to do)
