Ok I see you are greener than green^^ But it is no Problem. If you want to make games you must learn a ot before.

Ok some points you have to consider:

1. You have to learn a programming language:
- C, C++, C#
- Basic, Visual Basic,... there are a lot of basic languages
- Java
- ... there are many more languages, but not all are good for programming games.

2. If you want to create 3D games you will need:
- Modelling, Animating, ...-Skills
- A 3D Engine to use realtime 3d grafics

TIP: Use the Blender Game Engine. You don't have to program your own programs (it is very complicate). The BGE use phyton scripts for the gameplay, ... You have to learn phyton to write the scripts.

If you want to make a "big" game you need a team! It is a lot of work!

So I hope I could help you! If you want more infos - Post your questions.

Torque is ok.. for it's price, but if you want to use MakeHuman models with that, then you'd better wait for the new release with a low-poly export option, because the current model is way to complex to use in real time render.

A low-poly export would be an awesome feature, is this planned for the upcoming release? Where can I see the planned feature list?

I'm afraid it's all over the forum

You can probably find most answers among these posts http://www.makehuman.org/forum/search.php?author_id=2&sr=posts

From what I remember the new features are:
-new gui
-new base mesh
-new muscle engine
-new one part uv
-new export options
-ethnic morphs/targets
-face construction from photo
-hair
-cloth
-python based plugins

but I wouldn't expect them all at once in the next release

Hm, apologies to the OP for the hijack. That topic probably needs its own thread.

Can Java be used to write games? Certainly. Here are some links to start with:

I'm not sure if going for Java to make a 3D game is the best way to go (for performance reasons)... but I'm not the best informed person in that matter.
There are some free game engines (for example id Tech 3 - the Quake 3 engine is free) and using one of those is probably a better idea then making one from scratch if you're not a pro-programmer.
Google for "free 3d game engine" there are some very impressive things to find.
