Hi. I can't render my model.

Hi, I can't render my model, there are no options. Is this because my laptop is too old? I'm a newbie but I understand this produces better results than when you're just using it in the design mode. A bit like compiling some code.

Perhaps you can give us a more detailed rundown of your hardware and operating system specifications. We also need to know the version of MakeHuman you are using. This will help us understand what steps need to be taken to fix your problem.

Another thing you can do is look in the log files within MakeHuman to see what might be going wrong since the program is quite good at logging everything it does from opening to closing a session. Errors will show up as text of a different color within the log file.

You need to first enable rendering in the settings. And then the corresponding tab will appear.

Problem solved. As well as the solution above, I found downloading the nightly build worked for me. In Blender, you can move the figure's limbs etc. How's this done?

Perhaps in the nightly build this plugin is enabled by default.

You need to assign the character a rig (skeleton).

Rig can be assigned when importing into Blender.

Thanks for the tips. I can move a characters arms a bit now. (In Blender). I'm making a comic, and the results are a bit plasticky. I also can't select Cycles as the render engine. Would it be OK to get help with Blender here?

No problem we all have to start somewhere. If you want to use cycles as your rendering engine you set it to that before you import the makehuman model into blender converting can be done but is very tedious.

Enjoy the Choice :)

Yes, it's ok to ask blender questions on these forums, but the blender subforum might be better suited: viewforum.php?f=22
