Just an image

Is there a way to simply export the image of the figure as an image? I just want to put it in GIMP or photoshop to paint.

Ok, and how do I do that? Is that what you have to do through blender? I downloaded blender, but it seems pretty overwhelming trying to put skin on the wire frame.
