The fbx exporter does not handle transparency correctly you have to enable the alpha channel on the materials panel in blender mentioned in the wiki if you need more detail. FBX may be an industry standard but it is closed source/commercial and very hard for open sources projects to fully implement without being taken to court by AutoDesk the owners for that reason we most of us prefer our own mhx2 for importing into blender it does handle the alpha channel properly.

Mhx2 has two parts the exporter that is put into the makehuman program files and the blender importer that is installed in blender's add-on's interface( Preferences-- addons) use the install button no need to unzip the addon check the read me file that is part of the download for details also on the GitHub page where you get the mhx2 files.

It has been a while since I played with FBX, but it seems a stretch to blame the fbx exporter for the "handling transparency improperly". MH code's transparency in an alpha channel which seems at odds with the way many 3D programs expect to receive it by default. We could blame conceivably blame the MH FBX exporter for being "incompatible with Blender's importer" but the MH FBX exporter's code is not necessarily out of spec. :D The advice on mhx2 is solid. :P

Comparing the results of B2.90 and B2.91-beta, it could also be some sort of bug in Blender. At least in the beta the transparency masks seem to be setup correctly.
Please keep in mind that further tweaking of the material settings is necessary in order to see transparency in Eevee! Refer to Blender's official documentation for more detailed information.
