Save as .jpg 300 ppi ???

Postby Faithbuilders » Wed Feb 19, 2020 6:17 pm

Hello I have trying to create my people as stand-alone pictures in childrens book, and then uploaded into Amazon. A number of issues I am having tho.

1) Export does not export my human to a .jpg, .bpm, or other known graphics formate! Can i save my human to a .jpg or like?

2) Amazon requires that all graphics be high quality (300 ppi) - I have used a screen capture program to save my human as a .jpg - the problem is the quality it only 72 ppi! Can I create my human with better quality?

I guess what I am asking, is there a way to make my human, and then save my human as a .jpg with a quality of at least 300 ppi?

Thank you.

You should be using the Render tab to create an image and the image format will be .png or exporting to blender and doing a much better job of rendering with it's cycles render engine where you can control for ppi and save in several image formats and resolutions. And please remember that makehuman was never intended to be the end product of the character creation workflow just the starting point.

Enjoy the Choice :)

Thank you for your advice - I do want to learn more about blender, but it has such a high learning curve that I just don't have time to put into it right now. Plus I need a new computer, my computer can not run the newest Blender. I thought with such basic things I am trying to do right now, MH would be enough for my simple needs.

Ok I tried rendering it in MH, that worked as far as creating it as a .jpg - but the resolution is still only 96dpi; How do I up the quality of the picture (300dpi)?

Thank you.

In rendering > render you see a resolution of 800 x 600 by default.

At 96 dpi, this produces about a 8 inch by 6 inch image (21 cm x 16 cm, I think). At 300 dpi the image will be about 1/3 the size. To have a "full size image at 300 dpi, simply set the resolution 2400 x 1800 (round numbers).
