Embed the textures to the final .FBX file

Postby eugeneymail » Tue Dec 31, 2019 2:18 am

MakeHuman 1.1.1
Operating System: OSX

Create a 3D human model. Export it as mymodel.fbx file. Now go to the computer's file manager to check the result. I found one file with the extension of .fbx such as mymodel.fbx along with a directory with name "textures". So, here .fbx file and its textures are separated (?).

How can I export and combine both the object and its textures together into a SINGLE file file_name.fbx?

As a comparison, I used the Mixamo to repeat the above process, i.e., select a Character and then download it as .fbx file. The downloaded .fbx file (I believe) includes both the object and its textures. Then how can I achieve the same from the MakeHuman?

Thanks

Eugene

This can't be done directly from makehumam. The fbx standard supports using separate texture folder, though. Therefore, the result should be imported into most other programs.

The two part result can probably be turned into a single .fbx file using one of the Autodesk utilities.
