I need help installing add ons on Blender

Hello!

I would like to work on my Makehuman characters on Blender. I heard of this good add on which allows to exchange meshs from Makehuman to Blender and those options make clothes and make target.
I could successfully install the add on on Makehuman, so I have this option to save in mesh format, but I can't install any add on on Blender.
I downloaded the files from the right page : http://www.makehumancommunity.org/content/plugins.html
And moved the addons for blender after unzipping them in the addon folder in Blender where it is installed.
I followed a tutorial (in French) explaining how to activate these addons by the "user preference" pannel. After clicking the addons I wanted to activate, I had to click on "Save user settings". First problem: The button doesn't answer. nothing happens by clicking on it. So I tried the "Install add-on from file" and then I got this error message saying that there are 2 files of the same name on my computer. The problem is that the "C/users/Nicolas/AppData/Roaming" folder doesn't exist on my computer...
Moreover, playing around there makes Blender and the whole computer to crash...

Uninstalling and reinstalling Blender doesn't do anything... It's like if the software wasn't even removed from my system...

Can someone please help me?

Thanks a lot! :)

On Windows AppData is a hidden folder. Blender's recommended way installing add-ons is putting data in that folder AppData\Roaming\Blender... Either copy your plug-in there or use the install from file tool. But in that case you need to remove the plugin from Blender's system folder for plug-ins!
"Save user settings" doesn't do anything, but saving your settings. There won't be any sort of "answer" by clicking that button. To activate a plugin you will have to click that little check box.

Please refer to Blender's official documentation on installing plug-ins!

Hello Aranuvir,

I successfuly found those hidden folders and removed the copies from them. no more error message! Thank you.

The problem was solved for the make clothes and make targets...

However the add on for importing meshs from Make human doesn't work. I clicked it in the add on panel in user preferences and still it doesn't appear when I look at the "import" button... I tried many and many times, I don't know what else I can do...
I know it can work, I know many people use it, but I feel very frustrated as if I can't import my characters from Make Human, I can't do anything!

Please, anymore help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

There are version differences between Blender 2.79b and Blender 2.80 as to the best mhx2 version to use. If you you are using Blender 2.79b, try using mhx2 version 0.28 and not version 0.30.

Hello, RobBaer,

How can I find this information?
I downloaded mhx2 here: http://www.makehumancommunity.org/content/plugins.html
I couldn't find any other version of mhx2 there...

I am using Blender 2.79 but I tried the mhx2 on Blender 2.80 with no success...

Do you know where I could find this 0.28 version?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Try this version https://bitbucket.org/Aranuvir/mhx2-mak ... downloads/, though recently the code was only tested against B28. Tell me if there are any glitches with B27.
BTW, the importer can also be invoked from the T-panel (B27) or N-panel (B28). This question has been answered more than one time in the forums...

Is this when using the latest official MHX from bitbucket, the MHX packad with alpha3, or Aranuvir's fork?

Anyway, alternatively you could try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEaVZVbTJOQ
