Target causes clothes to wrinkle

Postby maliyana » Mon Mar 26, 2018 7:51 pm

Basically, I'm trying to create a character with a very big head/brain. In order to accomplish this, I made a target. However, applying the target caused any clothing I give him to distort like this:

I tried applying the "Affect Body Only" option in MakeTarget, but it didn't help. And only the clothes are affected. His body doesn't appear to be distorted without clothes.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. The target may be seen below.

Looks to me as if you inadvertedly modified something on the helpers layer.

Did you model the target on "base mesh with helpers" or only "base mesh" (the first alternative is the safer one).

A tip for using the mesh with helpers: Use blender's mask modifier. (It uses a vertex group containing only the vertices you want to see, and hides the rest. Good for getting your characters' hair away from their eyes.)

Also, using the "base mesh" instead of "average male/female" to make your target can also lead to unexpected results.

And yes, what Jujube says. You're better off modeling at least one female and one male target based on the gender modified base meshes.

I used the Base mesh without helpers. I'll try what you two have suggested and see what the results are. Thank you.

EDIT: So I tried using a male base w/ helpers, and the problem persists. Any other suggestions?
