How to install Proxies?

Hi,

Can you please help me on installing a proxy in MakeHuman? Below is what I did... and it fails.

I tried to download the proxy from this page: http://www.makehumancommunity.org/proxy ... mment-form
I was told in another message in this forum that:
- I should create a dedicated folder for each proxy under C:\Program Files\MakeHuman\data\proxymeshes.
- the folder should have the same name as the proxy file

So I created a folder named "female_muscle_simplified_genitals".
On http://www.makehumancommunity.org/proxy ... mment-form, I made a right-click on the 3 files (OBJ, Proxy and Thumb) to download them.
My first issue is that the OBJ and the PROXY files are saved as HTML files. My browser is EDGE on Win 10. So I renamed them adding the following extensions:

I can identify two problems: there should be 3 files (obj, proxy, thumb) with the same name. female_[...]_genitals.obj is missing. Download again and name correctly! Some files still seem to be recognized as HTM. Windows often suppresses known extensions. You can deactivate this behaviour somewhere in the windows settings. Make sure the files aren't named something like "female[...].proxy.htm" !

Do not put it at C:\Program Files\MakeHuman\data\proxymeshes. And the download issue can be solved but right-clicking on the link and choosing "Save link as" and save it to
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Documents\makehuman\v1\data\proxymeshes\female_muscle_simplified_genitals\ You use that location so that you do not have to reinstall when you update the program.
That Save link as is critical it works with both chrome and firefox it should be the same with Edge if not it is the only browser that does not support this.

Ok, it works now. THANK YOU.

Some feedback anyway:
- I just love EDGE (I was an IE and Firefox user before). But as crazy as it might be, the only option is "Save as Target", which does not work. I had to install Chrome and use the Save Link As.
- In Win 10, the correct path is C:\Users\UserName\OneDrive\Documents\makehuman\v1\data\proxymeshes\ProxNAME

I have noticed all the default Proxy are installed in C:\Program Files\MakeHuman\data\proxymeshes
Based on what you said loki1950, I understand those default proxies will not disappear when I updated MH, but for the other ones I just downloaded, I need to place them in the folder C:\Users\UserName\OneDrive\Documents\makehuman\v1\data\proxymeshes\ProxyNAME, otherwise they will disappear at each update. Am I correct?

Yes that is right that is also where you can put any other third party assets that you download just make sure that it's the proper folder for the asset type Thank you for the Win10 path I just used my own Win10 install as an example but I do not use OneDrive and I have not booted into it for ages much prefer LInux
