Does anyone happen to know how to get a model done in the Makehuman, into Daz studio, in either a fbx or Caladda file, to where I can pose and animate the character.? Hope I got this in the right section

I have tried a few simple test imports but just lows up in all kinds of pieces and if I do not add in a bones it takes and appears to import and look OK just can not do anything with it with NO bone movement any tips ideas etc?? Thanks in advance

Please add screenshots of what happens.

Did you test some different skeletons?

In general, FBX is a very messy format since it's proprietary and comes in many different dialects and versions. An FBX export from one program might look different from an FBX from another program while both still being "correct" FBX. Because of this it sometimes helps to open an FBX file in another program which is able to read it, and re-export it from there in the hope that the second program's FBX implementation fits better.

The most common approach here would be importing into blender (not necessarily via FBX) and make an FBX export from there.

You need to use Blender as an intermediary. Export from Makehuman as Collada, then through Blender, then to DAZ Studio.
I haven't done this since a few versions back, as the 1.1 mesh is superior to anything DAZ has (in terms of versatility).

I Concur !
I still use DAZ, though very infrequently now, as I find Blender to be a much superior program, that allows me to do a whole lot more than DAZ is capable of doing on its own. Same goes for Maya as well as a few others... Blender seems to be an "All-in-One" suite, much better suited for what I want to accomplish.

Unless there is something very different about the latest version of DAZ, you cannot import boned/skinned models into DAZ. Neither FBX, nor DAE will work. No matter the flavor! :(

I think it has something to do with their "tri-ax" rigging. This is a long-running sore point with DAZ.

I know some peeps have used MH bodies as second-skin "clothing" for DAZzies.

You can only import Poser-files having the CR2-format + obj
