i want to use make target to get a slider for change the pose from open hand to fist

i saw the video "T-Pose with makeTarget" on youtube -> is it really necessary to make a new armature for the MakeHuman Model to use MakeTarget ?

thank-you for helping

I wouldn't recommend doing that with a target, it doesn't work well with that. If it works, then it will probably work on one specific model only.

I would recommend using poses instead. It'll probably be a lot easier to pose the hand into a fist than model it as well.

i want to create this for only one specific model -> to open and close the hand with a slider in MakeHuman

i need help please, to do this with makeTarget. do i need to model armature to pose for example the arm, or can i get this with import an make human model
(what export facts from MH i need for this example) without creating new armature?

i have already tried several times to pose a human mesh model in blender with modeling an armature. but it didn't work - like in the youtube video (i have listed below)

or is this topic already anywhere in this forum?

thanks for help!

With a target, the hand will probably not close or open gradually. Or at least, it will not look good.
So if your purpose is to be able to open and close it gradually, then a target will not work.

To create such a target you'd have to export the mesh and then model the vertices to close the hand, then apply MakeTarget as you usually would, taking care to deduct all other relative targets.
You could of course make your life easier and export a model with a skeleton rig. Then you could reduce the modeling problem to a posing problem. After the hand pose is set, the armature modifier has to be applied so that the vertex positions are applied to the mesh.

sorry
what do you mean with
"the armature modifier has to be applied so that the vertex positions are applied to the mesh."

if you mean Mesh->Armature->Ctrl P

my problem so far is that i can't connect the armature to the mesh - i get always "cannot be applied in a mesh with a shape keys"

https://www.blender.org/manual/modeling ... ature.html
The first screenshot on that page, there is an "apply" button. I mean pressing that.

Remove all the shape keys.
Or export using a standard exporter like DAE or FBX, they don't add any shapekeys.

for makeTarget i need "load human mesh" - and this is a .mhx

and so i can't take another import like .dae or .fbx -> and than i get "....cannot be applied with shape keys"
- can i delete them anyway

or i am wrong?
