unsmooth models in blender from 091

Postby Dreamcube017 » Tue Jan 26, 2010 10:46 am

I posted this in the general thread because I didn't know this thread was here... xD

But I can't get the to look smooth in Blender.

The only reason I'm using 091 is because I really want to try and use the CMU mocap data..

Although there MIGH be a way for me to actually use the NEW MHX models with that but I've not tested it yet.

That way is to basically import a model from the new MH in the MHX format, then pull in a CMU BVH file, , pose the MH character to match the bones of the CMU file, then export the character as OBJ or 3DS, and then RE-import the model in that pose and then bring in the CMU bones and map it to those so it can use them.

Do you think that will work. Plus those models come in smooth even though they're a bit higher in poly count...

If I could figure out how to smooth thigns in blender, that'd be great.

I believe you need a material first to make auto smooth work.

I just found the smoothign option in the links and Materials section. It's called SetSmooth... but I've since given up on the 091 model as I really don't feel like setting up the shaders when the new one has them there already. For posing, I can always do what I suggested above.
