Where are the textures?

Postby uncle808us » Sun Mar 16, 2014 3:19 pm

I just downloaded 1.0.0 for Mac and exported a figure out as an FBX. Everything went fine rig geometry etc. but no textures. Where are the textures?
There is a texture folder but it is empty. Thanks

This is a known bug and in the latest release.
Are you certain you are using the latest download?

That version should work fine.
In your exports folder (the folder where your fbx file is) should be a folder called "textures". It should contain all the textures of your model.

For the default human, that is only the brown eye texture. If you add textured materials, for example when adding clothes to the mesh or setting a textured skin material, there will be more textures in that folder when you export.

Some tools that import FBX require you to reference and import the textures manually.

I am using 1.0.0-Win32 - have exported several figures in .obj, .fbx and .dae, using different materials and my texture folder is still empty. Any advice?

Could you attach logfiles after attempting such an export to this thread?

Here's your answer: The missing texture was a bug, which should now fixed in the default branch. It happened when the mesh was exported with units other than decimeters.
Use decimeters.

It will be fixed in the 1.0.1 bugfix release. Probably in 2 weeks or so.
