Auto-downloading of user-contributed resources?
Posted: Wed Sep 26, 2012 2:16 pmIs there any plan to link the media repositories (e.g. http://download.tuxfamily.org/makehuman/skins/ ) with the user-contributed resources (e.g. http://makehuman.org/skins/ )?
The reason I ask is, I just finished building Makehuman and it prompted me to download the skins from the former; not realizing that this is a completely separate repository, I expected it to include skins from the latter and it did not.
The downloading of resources could become a very powerful feature in the future if linked with user contributions and an auto-update mechanism. For right now, however, the extra per-user overhead of manually downloading each skin is a bit of a turn-off, not to mention that most newcomers probably don't even know the other resources exist.
