Anime tool development status.

Postby Manuel » Sat Jun 30, 2012 9:27 pm

After a detailed study of common anime sheets, we have found 4 main categories:

  • Game
  • Seinen
  • Kodomo
  • SuperDeformed

The first part of development will be:

1) Complete the 2d stylesheets.
2) Start the development of the first category only (we need to make 52 targets for each category)
3) Implementing a first alpha of makeanime with the first category only
4) In the meantime, trying to increase the number of artists.
5) Repete step 1 to 4 for other categories.

We are looking for volunteers for the (1).

Best,

Manuel

I'm wiling to contribute to this part of the project. What kind of Anime would Studio Ghibli be considered? I've got lots of old anime dvds, and I'd have to know what styles are considered the norm. For example, is 'Ghost in the Shell' a standard? Watching it, it seemed more rotoscope than cartoon.

Both them are Seinen.

well...I went out a looked for anime favorites, of which Studio Ghibli topped out.
My impression is that an integration of anime and MH will yield the kind of work Jo Chen does:

Which, interestingly enough, is how I was attracted to MH in the first place. :o

The base mesh is suitable to be morphed in many anime styles.
I've tested it by myself, years ago:
