Moving limbs along axis?

Hi everyone,
I wonder if there is a option to move limbs along axis?
You know, something like holidng the shift-key in photoshop to draw straight lines.
Also, it would be cool if you can add exact coordinates to the point where you want the part of the body to be moved.
