Has Makehuman Downgraded?

Postby Ureh » Thu Sep 04, 2014 11:31 pm

Hello Ureh here. I am a blender artist and animator. I mainly wanted to join this forum to talk about an issue with make human.

I was watching a Makehuman tutorial made about 4 years ago and something seemed odd. when you turned up the weight of the character to muscles seem to be more toned then they are now. I mean now you can get real superhero looking muscles but you cant really see the creases in the muscle. Not only that but the posing in older makehuman also WORKED! Maybe its just me but I cant get the posing in the current make human to work. And the rig they used for posing looked like it had better shoulder deformation but thats just me. My question is... When will these problems be fixed in the current makehuman? Technology is better now so I dont see how the quality could go down. I know we have more cloth, hair, ethnicity, and expression options but the regular character has in my opinion downgraded in quality.

The Makehuman team settled on what they believe to be the best (most realistic with the least number of vertices) mesh possible that can work for every type of human.
If you want the mesh topology with very defined musculature, you will need to download the unstable 1.1 version.

Also I have a problem. I downloaded the new makehuman and when I try to launch the application an error pops up. How do I fix that?

Best to use permalinks: http://www.makehuman.org/blog/new_topol ... cters.html
Because after a few new posts, that link above will no longer point to the right article.
