Hey guys

I´m a big fan from "Makehuman" and so i was really happy about the Prealpha Download *jumping around*
But after Dowload the Prealpha i wanted to Start MH to take a look and the only thing i get is:


what could i do ? I really want to test MH in the new Prealpha

I'm having a major problem downloading the app. It keeps crashing at 4.5meg claiming the download is complete. I've tried 4 times using both the Chrome Browser and IE6.

Strange, i downloaded it very swiftly but i am using Firefox 3.

Okay the only thing i needed was Python 2.6.....totaly overeaded this fact
well it runs at all and i link it Tkanks a lot for the fast Help

In theory you don't need full python 26 installation, but only the microsoft redistributable...

I got a different error at application start:



Same error on Makehuman Alpha 1 and Alpha 2.
I installed Microsoft C++ Redistributable and Python as recommended.
Here is a screenshot of my software installed:



Any suggestions?

Hi -

I am VERY new to MakeHuman - not even used it yet! Just now downloaded and got the same error as the original poster - I have many 3d apps, and all apps from Daz3d installed the redistributable C++, so it is on my pc..

I know very little of what goes on under the bonnet in a pc, and when I read all the warnings on the Microsoft site, I backed off - don't want to mess up my other 3d apps by trying to install C++ redistributable without knowing what I'm doing!

So I guess my questions are -
Firstly, how can I get it to work without messing around with C++? Secondly, if there is now way of doing this, when will a version with an installer become available and lastly, where could I get hold of a stable version to be going on with in the meantime.?

Please excuse the ignorance - I am a wannabe 3d artist, not a software engineer

Oh dear!

A fully tested and supported version with an installer is not planned until the release around the end of the year, see the Roadmap: http://sites.google.com/site/makehumandocs/road-map. You could try to install python 2.6 to see if it works with a complete python setup.
