Make material

Postby Ozort666 » Wed Apr 27, 2022 1:11 am

Hi, I was wondering if theres some way to import material made in blender, like 3d hair and such, because the hairstyles I've seen are not convincing for me, any help?

Depends on what you mean with import.

There is a tool "makeskin" which is used to create blender materials in such a way that they can then be exported to MakeHuman materials. This tool is capable of handling various maps (diffuse, normal, bump...) as well as most of the input sockets on the principled bsdf node. Procedural materials are not supported and will have to baked to maps first in order to be used.

However, in order to make a compatible material, you'll need to give proper names to all nodes in the node setup. MakeSkin will help you with this if you create a material through it. You won't be able to export an unmodified blender material straight off.

MakeSkin is included in MPFB2 (under "create assets") but also available as a standalone tool. Both MPFB2 and makeskin standalone can be downloaded from https://download.tuxfamily.org/makehuman/plugins/.

The github project page for MakeSkin is available at https://github.com/makehumancommunity/c ... s-makeskin. On this page you can find a compatibility table with what material features map onto which material features in blender.
