targets not mirrrored

Postby jojololo » Tue Apr 12, 2022 8:02 am

Hi,

When reading the buttocks-volume-X.target, I wonder why the two files don't have the same vertices with inverted values.

What is the logic behind that?

I get I don't understand how targets are made since I need to create one from Blender.
But I like to understand what is going on underneath.

Thanks!

There is no linear mathematical relation between increasing and decreasing targets. They're just grouped because they relate to each other visually.

Take muscularity as an example. If you have a 0% muscular stomach you have a flabby beer belly. If you have a 100% muscular stomach, you have a six-pack. These are not morphologies that are linear mathematical opposites of each other. On one side of the spectrum you have bumpiness defining muscles, on the other you have a spherical shape with no defining topology.

The same is true for most positive/negative targets.
