MakeTarget2 with modified OBJ mesh

Postby kornks » Wed Mar 03, 2021 3:04 pm

Hi everyone,
I am new to MH and have a seemingly very basic question, however I couldn't find the answer anywhere for the current MakeTarget2 version: What is the new equivalent (function or workflow) to the MakeTarget1 function "Load Target from Mesh"? When I export the MakeHuman Basic Mesh as OBJ (both from MH itself, without eyes, feet not on ground, and from the Basemesh imported using the Blender MakeHuman2 Addon, with option "keep Vertex order" checked) and directly reimport it to Blender (again, with option "Keep Vertex Order"), apparently I cannot even "Join as Shapes" the two Meshes due to differing Vertex Number. But this would be the recommended way to reimport a mesh modification applied outside Blender, am I correct?
Thank you for any hints on that topic!

I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to achieve. But if you want to do is to create a target from an entire human state, maybe you'd be better off using the "save target" functionality rather than trying to export the human and compare it with a base mesh in blender?
