I have some old modes created using the previous versions.

I am unable to open them. They are .mhm.

1.2.0 cannot open them.

Any suggestions or workaround to this?

I am using Ubuntu Studio 18.04.

And the contents of the mhm files. They are plain text files, so can be opened with any text editor.

just a silly question from my side, I remember I had trouble when I changed back from Apple to Linux (I also use Ubuntu 18.04 now). I simply copied a file called settings.ini and of course I have a different home path on my Linux box compared to Apple before: there are at least a few potential problems inside the settings.ini ... I will simply add my MakeHuman 1.1 one as an example.

Code: Select all
{
    "realtimeUpdates": true,
    "restoreWindowSize": true,
    "sliderImages": true,
    "loaddir": "/data/punkduck/makehuman/v1/models",
    "excludePlugins": [],
    "rtl": false,
    "invertMouseWheel": false,
    "lowspeed": 1,
    "language": "english",
    "savedir": "/data/punkduck/makehuman/v1/models",
    "GL_RENDERER_AA": true,
    "Scene_Editor_FileDlgPath": "/data/punkduck/makehuman/v1/data/scenes",
    "rendering_width": 2000,
    "cameraAutoZoom": false,
    "preloadTargets": true,
    "rendering_height": 1500,
    "GL_RENDERER_SSS": true,
    "realtimeFitting": true,
    "exportdir": "/data/punkduck/makehuman/v1/exports",
    "version": "1.1.1",
    "highspeed": 5,
    "realtimeNormalUpdates": false,
    "units": "metric",
    "guiTheme": "makehuman",
    "windowGeometry": {
        "y": 25,
        "width": 2560,
        "state": [
            "maximized"
        ],
        "height": 1391,
        "x": -1
    }
}

there are few paths causing trouble as you can see. In my case it was the new home directory, now a copy will have some hidden problems with pathes called v1py3 instead of v1. Maybe the path simply points to the old folder ...

Maybe the path simply points to the old folder

But it will still parse that folder, and in case it contains mhm files, they will be shown. And if I get the original post correctly it's not a problem of finding the files, but getting them to load. Anyway, we will have to wait for answers of the OP, anything else is simple guess work...

BTW, since your old settings show version 1.1.1, they should get invalidated, if I get loadsettings correctly. Perhaps you want to recheck that behavior.

OT

If I remember correctly, and settings is the problem here, you can just delete "settings.ini" and MH will generate a proper default "settings.ini" version for you.
