When I try to open makehuman it says Error loading Python 27 DLL (code 126) : special characters. how do I fix it

The answer depends on your MakeHuman version. The most recent version is 1.2.0 alpha 4 http://www.makehumancommunity.org/wiki/Releases:120a4 This version is based on python 3 and not python 2.7. It is quite stable despite being labeled alpha. I would start by downloading this version and seeing if the problem persists.
