What remains for you to do is to run "apt-get install makehuman-community", as per the instructions that are printed in the console. Having done so, you will (most likely) get a working makehuman installation.

It seems somehow working tough. Synaptic Package Manager tells me that I have one package with broken dependecies now.
This package is makehuman-community.

Hi Joepal and Aranuvir,

thank much for your activity here.

I found some further input.
Trying to purge the 1.1 PPA:
apt-get install ppa-purge
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
You might want to run 'apt --fix-broken install' to correct these.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
makehuman-community : Depends: makehuman-community-clothes but it is not going to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt --fix-broken install' with no packages (or specify a solution).

This gives us the information that makehuman-community-clothes is the problem candidate.
the -- fix-broken doesn't bring anything better neither.

Last week I uninstalled using Synaptic. I'll have to do this again because it seems with a broken package installed I cannot install other software neither.
I include some screenshots of Synaptic too.
I'll remove the software and (hopefully) the wrong PPA and install 1.2 again and keep you updated if this changes something.

I don't know how that happened, but it seems you've gotten a corrupt version of a package:

Code: Select all
Preparing to unpack .../0-makehuman-community-clothes_1.2.0+20190317213847-1ppa1_all.deb ...
Unpacking makehuman-community-clothes (1.2.0+20190317213847-1ppa1) ...
dpkg-deb (subprocess): decompressing archive member: lzma error: compressed data is corrupt

As people have been installing this package from launchpad for more than half a year now without problem, I can only assume something went wrong in the download process. But it's hard to guess.

My suggestion would be to reset and redownload. Just uninstalling and reinstalling will only result in the same thing happening again, as you'll still have the cached package on disk.

So first, remove all traces of makehuman and makehuman-community:

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get remove --purge makehuman* makehuman-community*

Next delete all the cached debs:

Code: Select all
sudo rm -f /var/cache/apt/archives/makehuman*

I assume you have the 11x repo removed by now. Otherwise:

Code: Select all
sudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:makehuman-official/makehuman-community

This is probably not necessary, but doesn't hurt:

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install -f
sudo apt-get update

Now you should be able to trigger a new download and install of makehuman-community:

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install makehuman-community

As the packages were deleted from disk, fresh versions should be downloaded from launchpad.

Hello,

It seems I have found it :)
I removed all makehuman related packagas and both repos and installed 1.2 again.

The program starts but I have the "unresolved dependencies" system error again.

Here's the reason:
sudo apt-get install makehuman-community
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
libllvm6.0 libllvm7
Use 'sudo apt autoremove' to remove them.

mhx2-makehuman-exchange
Suggested packages:
makehuman-community-blendertools makehuman-community-docs
The following NEW packages will be installed:
makehuman-community makehuman-community-clothes makehuman-community-plugins-assetdownloader makehuman-community-plugins-mhapi
makehuman-community-plugins-socket mhx2-makehuman-exchange
0 upgraded, 6 newly installed, 0 to remove and 5 not upgraded.

After this operation, 154 MB of additional disk space will be used.

Hi and once more thanks. I'm looking now here.
This worked.
In addition I had to remove some files in /usr/share/makehuman-comunity (and the folder itself) by hand.

Need to get 0 B/140 MB of archives.

IIRC this indicates the system still uses cached packages. As Joel said, you should clean the apt cache, too. Best uninstall MakeHuman using the --purge option, check the system folders for remaining traces of MakeHuman files and make sure all ppa got purged. Run apt(-get) clean to empty the cache. Then reinstall MakeHuman.
