Hi

Despite what is reported in the logfile of the commit of r2236 (current is r2243)
"Blender scripts modified for API change." the import script for mhx files into
blender is defunct.

Best regards
mcc

You may yet hope! I got or Blender 2.56 particles-2010 r35563 linux 32bit to run like a bunny on Ubuntu 10.10.
The trick is to open a Text window in Blender, and pull the import script out of Makehuman. (I always unzip the .tbz file to an folder called Experimental, so that I can grab scripts, and alter texture pngs.) :)

When you run the script, you'll be fooled at first, because all that happens is that a second Import mhx menu item appears in the Menu; just click on the second--newer, at the bottom of the menu--and it works fine. :D

This may not do it for windows or mac, I'd suggest having a flash drive with Ubuntu loaded just in case you really need that new Makehuman figure. I needed it for my Psychology class.

The mhx importer was not affected by the api change, but the exported mhx files were. So you need to export the mhx files again. I have made a new commit with a higher version number, to catch this kind of incompatibility.

The other files in the importers folder (which are not importers, but anyway) were directly affected by the api change.

Hi,

I am running an uptodate version of Blender (r35851, this is ~300 commits newer than the UBUNTU-version).

With this version the suggested workaround does not work.

Current status for me: Import again defunct.

Please fix API issues and other issues with an uptodate versio of blender.

Thanks.

Best regards,
mcc
