Nightly Builds Not Updating?

Postby brkurt » Tue Apr 13, 2010 9:57 am

Hello everyone...

Is there a reason why the nightly builds is no longer updating? For the last week, all I can get is Version 855.

Strange. The deb files, the osx and the win32 builds seem to update, but the linux tarballs not. At least if you look on the datestamps on tuxfamily.

I'll look into it, it probably has something to do with the cable cut a while back when I had to disable some services.

There seems to be a problem with SVN:

Code: Select all
root@www:/etc/cron.daily# ./buildmh
U    plugins/measurement.py
U    src/glmodule.c
svn: Failed to add directory 'utils/mhx': object of the same name already exists
svn update failed

Investigations are continuing....

As far as I can see, SVN is now repaired and the compile/update scripts no longer crash.

With some luck a new version should thus propagate tonight and be available tomorrow.

Hello Joepal...

The nightly builds have stopped uploading at Version 913, about three days ago.

Which nightly build are you downloadning? (they are built on separate machines, so I need to know in order to have more info on where to look)

Hm. On my side it looks as if it is working. I have enabled some logging and will take a look at what happens during the night.

It updates now. I've installed Version 916. Not 920, however. Are nightly builds expected to be slightly older?

Slightly, yes, but not days. They update in the middle of the night swedish time, so if some night owl or someone in another time zone is committing stuff, those changes might not propagate until the next night.

Also, since the various builds are made on different machines and at slightly different times, they might contain different svn revisions if someone had the time to commit something in between.

Anyway, I'm planning on consolidating all this to virtual machines on one physical host eventually. Right now it's a bit messy since I've set up stuff here and there where there was space available on the university.
