Makehuman does not start in ubuntu

Postby natcorsi » Sat Aug 13, 2022 7:54 pm

Hi! I'm trying to open Makehuman, but when I click on the icons, nothing happens, I've already reinstalled the program several times, I've already deleted the v1py3 folder, but it still doesn't work, does anyone know what it could be?

I'm using Ubuntu Budgie 22.04.1 LTS 64bit

Does anything in this issue report help? https://github.com/makehumancommunity/m ... issues/209

If not, we will need to see the log files in order to give an answer: http://www.makehumancommunity.org/wiki/ ... _report%3F

Hello, I opened my log file, but nothing appears, when I try to open makehuman-community through the terminal, the same error appears from the link you sent me, but unfortunately I couldn't solve it, even following the tips they give, it seems that the error has to do with the python version, because I'm using Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS. Do you know if there is any way to solve this incompatibility?

As stated in the issue thread, the only way to run on ubuntu 22.04 is to run from source rather than through using the PPA.

This will be fixed once we make a new build to the PPA, but that might still be a week or two away.

Hi! Thank you very much for the tip, I downloaded the source and managed to run it, however, I could not integrate with the system, and it is not finding the items that I had downloaded in the home folder, so when I try to open a character that I had already created , it opens without any accessories, do you know any way to fix this?

Thanks again for the help!!

For system integration, get one of those .desktop files you can find in the "buildscripts" subfolders (ppa or deb). Edit the "Exec" and "Icon" lines to the appropriate file location and finally place the desktop file in ".local/share/applications".
