Change light direction while modeling

Postby namuhekam » Tue Jun 11, 2019 9:38 pm

I want to know is there a way to edit the light direction while modeling. There's already a feature like that under the rendering tab in scene. However, it can be only viewed in that mode, going back to the default as soon as one exit the scene tab. Can the lighting be changed while modeling? If not, why?

Unfortunately, the behavior in scene is as good as it gets. The programmer who was working on prototyping lighting in the scene editor (among his many other contributions, like the progress bar) got too busy with real life to devote much more time to MH. Some of this prototyping has since been removed, and the scene editor is sort of a vestigial by-product.

Because MH is mainly intended to serve as a first step in a work flow, and things like lighting can better be done in programs like Blender or Maya, it is probably not a top-tier priority unless someone makes it a personal project to code.
