Facial Animations to Unity

Postby rusnnee » Fri Jul 15, 2022 6:08 pm

Hello,

I created facial animations of a Makehuman Model in Blender using this tutorial (shape keys): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pv6rxSEPUk&t=83s. I tried to export the model with the animation into unity mostly using this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bl2xBW-L7uU.
The animation transfers, but it doesn't play. Also, on the Action Editor view in Blender, no keyframes (yellow dots) are shown, but they can be seen in Dope Sheet. When I play the Action Editor, the animation happens.

I do not understand where in this pipeline did I make a mistake, and I would love the help to fix it, or find a new way.
Thank you!

Hi, bloxd io
The issue might lie in the export process. When exporting the model from Blender to Unity, ensure that you are selecting the correct file format that supports animations, such as FBX. Additionally, make sure that you have selected the option to export animations and that you have set the correct frame range.
If the issue persists, try importing the exported model into a new Unity project and see if the animations play correctly. If they do, then the issue might be with the previous Unity project.
If none of these solutions work, you might need to revisit the animation process in Blender and ensure that the keyframes are properly set and that the animations can be played in the viewport before exporting.
