Enhanced texture is missing

Enhanced texture is missing

Postby tomcat » Tue Feb 25, 2025 3:21 pm

I guess I'm doing it wrong again…

I'm trying to import a model from MH into Blender. If I select the skin material type “Enhanced” (or “with SSS”), there is no texture.

If I select the “Plain” type, the texture is present. But there is no separation into areas (lips, nails).

Eyes look normal in both cases (procedural eyes are disabled).

  • Blender 4.3.2
  • MPFB from Blender's Extensions Store

And this is right after you clicked a skin in the apply assets list, with enhanced set as skin model in the settings?

I'd like to see a screenshot of the shader nodes tab in blender with the material selected.

This is when importing into Blender from MakeHuman. The texture (Material) is assigned in MakeHuman.

As an option, yeah, it is possible to assign to the model imported from MakeHuman a texture from the MPFB library — an acceptable workaround. But it is not clear why the texture from MakeHuman is not imported?

It's hard to say, but the import path presumes that all skin assets are either found or at least have the same name.

If you import from makehuman, enter the shader tab, and open the body group (select the body node and click tab), you will see a node called "diffuseTexture". This should contain the file name it was looking for during import. Maybe this will provide some clue?

If the diffuseTexture node isn't there, then the material wasn't found at all, indicating that the asset path detection between MPFB and MakeHuman has failed.

Now I just repeated the previous procedure exactly. But apparently the computer was in a good mood and despite the fact that I did not change anything in the settings Enhanced texture displayed normally.

So the issue has been resolved, I guess to say.
