Hey All,

I'm looking for the best way to connect an object to my character.
I want to object to move together with the character when I change to pose.

What's like a good way todo this. Just some pointers on what type of technique I should be using.
I'm relative new to blender but have a good understanding of 3d programming.

Thanks in advance
Kris

These two documents that should get you started, these are based upon making new objects for use with the makehuman app.

For shapes that do not vary much with body changes
http://www.makehumancommunity.org/wiki/ ... ng_a_sword

For shapes that somewhat vary with body changes
http://www.makehumancommunity.org/wiki/ ... tex_groups

If these aren't enough, you can ask more detailed questions based upon their suggestions

Hey JWC,

Thx, but these are indeed focussed on the makehuman apps.
Ik have my character already loaded in Blender.

Was googling a bit and I think bone constrain is what I need.
Something like this.

Not sure what you want to achieve, but maybe it is as easy as setting the rig in pose mode and then make the most relevant bone the parent of the object?

Working just in blender, there are several options:

Parenting, as joepal mentioned, sets an object as a child of another object or armature/bone
Found under the Object->Parent menu in Object mode
Another option is setting an Object Constraint, with Transform, Tracking, and Relationship options.
Found under the Object Constraint Properties menu.

You can look up examples of these to see which best meets your needs.
