I had major issues with both of those solutions. i ended up using the rokoko plugins retargeting section to do what i needed.
obviously, that is not the prefered way, but if you are in a jam, you may want to give it a try.

Oh, you do have to make a rokoko account and login. annoying, but does not seem malicious.
I went ahead and changed a few lines of the python code to bypass the login, but rokoko has requested that i stop sharing the procedure to do that.
Just know, it can be done easily (I have no experience with Python and it took me less than an hour to hack through disabling the login from scratch)
