I assume your putting the sword in the opposite hand using blender, Because as far as I can see you can't do that directly in makehuman. I'm not handy with blender, So having a vers.of the Katana asset that would go to the left hand in the makehuman library would be convenient.
BTW the two handed style was called Niten (two heavens) developed by Minamoto Mushasi who also wrote "The Book of Five Rings".
It's "Miyamoto" and yes Niten Ichi-ryū is a two sword dual wielding style.
Sorry but swords are never handed weapons it does not mater which hand you use with a katana or any other sword been swing blades in real life for decades.
As for this statement, I did a little quick research and there are one-handed swords and two-handed swords and there's plenty of references to dual wielding swords both modern and historic (Miyamoto being one) in real life.
Now if your referring to there not being swords made for a specific hand (left or right) that's basically true. ( I believe a couple of actual left-handed swords have been found though, which were probably custom builds for the user)
heres some examples of dual wielding.
Note: This discussion of real life sword usage while interesting is off what my topic is about so lets drop it now please.
