MH taking chunks out of clothes mesh?

Postby Tbdanny » Sat Mar 31, 2018 7:48 am

Hi all,

I've got a ring that I've made in Blender, and I've exported it via the MakeClothes plugin. When I look at the exported .obj file in a mesh editing program (in this case, Meshlab), I get the following:

However, when I load it on the person in MakeHuman, there's a chunk taken out of one side:

I've checked in Blender, and the rotation, angle and all modifiers are applied before export. I've also made sure that the texture groups are correct. The mesh itself has 2,320 faces and 1,302 vertices.

Can anyone please tell me what's going on here?

My guess is you auto-assigned vertices rather than doing the rigid vertex group stuff. A macro target has shifted some vertices on the finger, and vertices on the ring has shifted with them, causing indentations. Furthermore, if exporting a rigged toon with the ring, you'd see the ring deforming when bending fingers etc.

You could take a look here to see if this would help: http://www.makehumancommunity.org/wiki/ ... ng_a_sword

I did auto-assign vertices. Thanks for the link.

Update:
That worked. Thank-you :D .
