Downloaded assets display odd orange/black label

Postby pk84 » Thu Dec 07, 2017 9:12 pm

So I am new with make human and hope this is an easy fix.

I download the "female skinsuit 01 make human" and when I go to makehuman-->materials--?skin/material-->it displays itself in the sidebar of material with the correct image; so far so good.

When I click it through, and the goes over to my human, she is cover in some shaded orange and black with some white letters on them (can't read them) instead of the correct display like seen on the sidebar. The shape of the structure remains accurate.

I tried other skins/material and even clothes assets and the same label shows. Any thoughts?

I am on a MacBook, MacOS version 10.13.1 if that matters.

It's the image saying (I think) "texture not found" or "file not found". This is most likely because the texture file (the .png or .jpg image) and the material descriptor (.mhmat file) aren't in the same directory, because the image is misnamed, or because of a mistake in the mhmat file.

You can open the mhmat file (it's just a text file) and look for a line saying "diffuseTexture ..." and check that the file name mentioned there is the same as the image file you should have downloaded.

Or you can use the Material Editor plug-in which comes with makehuman's download it's found on the Utilities tab.

Enjoy the Choice :)

And I am sure what the procedure is by going into Ultities to find a plugin. All I see with "material" is under message-->loading/unloading or imported/importing plugin3_libraries_materials_chooser

Did you download the images "shortbodysuit.png" and "shortbodysuit_normals.png", too?
