Why some assets does not work properly in 1.2.0?

Why some assets does not work properly in 1.2.0?

I downloaded some assets from http://www.makehumancommunity.org/content/user_contributed_assets.html and tried to install them into makehuman 1.2.0.

However, some of the assets does not work properly.

For exeample, for http://www.makehumancommunity.org/skin/young_asian_female_with_genitals_by_manuel_bastioni.html:
Cannot get texture for file path ../texture/young_lightskinned_female_genitals_diffuse3.png, no such file.

I tried to fixed that reference to the above file in the mhmat file, I got:
Cannot get texture for file path data/litspheres/lit_standard_skin.png, no such file.

I got similar problems for many clothes.

For http://www.makehumancommunity.org/clothes/celtic_summer_skirt_and_bodice.html:
Exception during event onFileSelected Traceback(most recent call last): File"./core\events3d.py", line 219, in callEvent method(event) File"./apps/gui\proxychooser.py", line 163, in onFileSelected self.proxyFileSelected(filename) File "./apps/gui\proxychooser.py", line 240, in p...

And nothing happened to the model.

Do I need to download some more files which does not mentioned in the download page or is there a way to fix that problem?

In general: don't use 1.2.0 unless you are developing MH. The clothes fitting mechanism has been experimentally replaced in the dev brach and is (probably) far from stable.

All assets in the repo are intended for 1.1.0 and the current version of the clothes fitting mechanism.

An 1.2.0 release isn't even on the horizon currently.

I have read this article several years ago and at the time I have to download the source.

I did not find this article again at the time I downloaded it again and it gave me 1.2.0.

I download the 1.1.0 again and fail to load my models made in 1.2.0, but most of the assets work.

Is there a way to downgrade the models from 1.2.0 to 1.1.0?

The MHM files contain the version number of the release they were produced with. As none of the targets have changed, the version number is the only thing which blocks them for being openable in 1.1.0.

If you open the MHM file with a text editor, simply change "1.2.0" to "1.1.0", and the model should then load smoothly.

Again, as Joepal already said, DO NOT use the development version (1.2.0) for any production work. The latest stable development version will be numbered MH 1.1.X for some time to come, not MH 1.2.X.

There is no guarantee that assets created with interim MH 1.2.0 version will even work in the released version of MH 1.2.0. Joepal's "editing trick" will fail you at some point, and you don't want to lose production work. All things you create with MH 1.1.0 WILL BE compatible with the released version of MH 1.2.0 when that version finally comes to pass.
